Moat Mountain Smokehouse & Brewing Co.
3378 White Mountain Hwy, North Conway, NH // (603) 356-6381
There are a lot of top-notch spots to stop in for a bite or a beverage along White Mountain Highway — however, Moat Mountain Smokehouse is one that can’t be missed. You’ll find a delicious menu awaits you, one that is full of dishes smoked on site like Texas-style brisket and Carolina-style pulled pork. There’s also pizza and burgers to choose from, as well as gluten-free and vegan options — so everyone can get their favorite things.
A Moat Mountain meal isn’t complete without a beer to sip, and we consider it one of the best breweries in New Hampshire. Fortunately, this brewing company has quite the selection, including those on the regular rotation, like the Boneshaker Brown Ale, and seasonal delights like the Clockwork Mandarina. The beer sampler is the biggest one we’ve seen in New Hampshire, with eight different beers in a single flight!
What to get at Moat Mountain: If you’re a meat and potatoes type of person, then the combo platter, which features pulled pork and chicken, as well as BBQ brisket, is the definite way to go. The New England-style hush puppies are also a fan favorite, and the Thai peanut chili is a great option for vegetarians and vegans alike. We at New Hampshire Way love to drop in for a bowl of Texas chili at Moat Mountain, even when it isn’t time for dinner.

Plus most of the produce is organic and natural, and much of the food is locally sourced within New England.
Table & Tonic is a casual dining experience perfect for anyone looking for a quick and healthy meal. The menu has something for everyone, but they are an especially good option if you’re a vegetarian or vegan. They also offer bakery items, espresso drinks, and fresh pressed juice as well.
What to get at Table & Tonic: Their menu varies, but the morning options, like breakfast sandwiches, wraps, and burritos are all delicious and always a hit. The build-your-own-farm-salad is a great option for lunch or dinner if you really want to taste the freshness of the ingredients too.
Vito Marcello’s Italian Bistro
45 Seavey St, North Conway, NH // (603) 356-7000
If you’re craving al dente pasta while you’re in the White Mountains, Vito Marcello’s Italian Bistro can’t be beat. This restaurant is charming and offers a great atmosphere while enjoying the surroundings. When weather permits, you can dine outdoors on a delightful patio area and take in the mountain backdrop.
This is a local favorite and reservations are recommended. It’s the perfect place for a romantic dinner with a scenic view, though it’s not an ideal spot if your party has a lot of people. However, if you’re exhausted from a long day of climbing mountains and just want to go back to your North Conway hotel, takeout is always an option.
What to get at Vito Marcello’s: Italian classics like veal parmigiana and chicken Florentine are this restaurant’s specialty. Kids can enjoy the cheese ravioli, and the fettuccine primavera is a top pick for vegetarians.
May Kelly’s Cottage
3002 White Mountain Hwy, North Conway, NH // (603) 356-7005
The eye-catching yellow exterior of this Irish Bar may be what draws you in at first, but you’ll stay for the warm and tasty pub food. The menu items are part of authentic Irish cuisine, but the ingredients they are made with are all local to New Hampshire, giving each dish an authentic taste and fresh flavor. What could be better after a day of hiking or skiing?
Perhaps even better than the food is the inviting atmosphere. With a dedication to upholding traditions like Sunday Afternoon Seisiúns where musicians come and play, you’ll find that a trip to May Kelly’s won’t soon be forgotten.
What to get at May Kelly’s: The traditional shepherd’s pie is a must for any lover of Irish food, but for a fun twist on familiar flavors, try the Gaelic pizza that is made with mashed potatoes. There are also burgers for kids to enjoy and a grilled portabella sandwich for vegetarians.
Delaney’s Hole in the Wall
2966 White Mountain Hwy, North Conway, NH // (603) 356-7776
Anything but an actual hole in the wall, Delaney’s good food in a cute tavern setting. Those searching for a casual bite or to catch a sports game on TV will enjoy this restaurant.
The Cranmore dining room at Delaney’s is dedicated to celebrating the White Mountains’ ski history. Vintage skis and pictures line the walls, adding a coziness to the pleasant atmosphere.
The menu is decorated with American classics made from family recipes, like New England clam chowder and shrimp po’ boys. However, there’s a separate fresh sushi menu for anyone looking for Japanese fare.

The best Mexican Restaurant in the North Conway area is also one of the most beloved restaurants in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The exterior is easy to dismiss as it blends in and may even be mistaken for a chain restaurant, but Fiesta Jalisco is one of a kind.
This is the place to go if you’re looking for authentic cuisine and premium beers from Mexico. They also have delicious margaritas and a festive environment, so it’s a great spot for group outings or family celebrations.
Most diners can find something to enjoy on the menu, as it has a broad appeal. However, if food allergies or dietary constraints are a concern, they offer great service and will happily accommodate special requests.
What to get at Fiesta Jalisco: Nachos Supremos are a crowd pleaser, and great to share. There are also plenty of vegetarian options, but the quesadilla Jalisco is one of the best, filled with lots of fresh veggies. If everything looks good, then your best bet is to get the dinner special sampler plate, so you can try a bit of everything from chalupas to enchiladas.

We also love this spot for vegans and gluten-free diners.
The meats used are all free-range and the produce is organic, so everything tastes fresh and delicious. However, you’ll enjoy your flatbreads most because they are made traditionally in clay ovens, which add to the ambiance of the rustic restaurant with an open floor plan.

Muddy Moose Restaurant
2344 White Mountain Hwy, North Conway, NH // (603) 356-7696
Muddy Moose Restaurant might be the coziest spot in North Conway. Part of that is because of the giant fireplace in the dining room, but it’s also due to the fact that this is a great spot with friendly staff and a warm wilderness-themed atmosphere.
The restaurant is reminiscent of a lodge with an unpainted wooden interior and moose heads hanging on the walls. Their menu offers a hearty array of American classics. You can find typical pub fare like nachos and onion rings, alongside pastas and NY Strip steak, all of which is sure to delight.
What to get at Muddy Moose: The Buffalo Burger is one of the tastiest dishes on the menu, though Fred’s Baked Haddock and the Muddy Moose Rack of Ribs stand out as well. Vegetarians can try the Moosini Vegetini pasta dish, and kids will love the Hot Diggity Dog & Fries.
